What‘s the different between a Proxy, Web-Based Proxy and Proxy server?

Web-Based Proxies, Proxy Sites and Proxy Servers are basically the same thing, they are websites using proxy script, such as Glype or Phproxy that hide your IP address allowing you to browse the internet securely or bypass local filters at your school or workplace.

However there are other types of IP hiding services these include:



Proxy Key

Hide-My-IP

Proxify

Proxy Key and Hide-My-IP are programs that you can download and install on your computer giving you the same effect of using a web-based proxy however with many more features and a quicker loading time.
However Proxify is different. You have to subscribe to their service to use their service before you can use it fully; I have never used the service however it seems to be getting lots of traffic so it is probably worthwhile.
